It’s time for a change

This year I did things a little differently. I planted written reminders of my vision for my life and words of encouragement all around my room and in my devotionals. The beauty of vision is that it creates a filter, so whether I come across one of these intentionally or it slips out of my Jesus Calling like this one, I have a reminder right there in front of me of my vision for this year and beyond. Each time I come across one, it serves as a checkpoint for me to ask myself, what’s working? What’s not working? Is there something I can do differently? It also allows me to recognize when it’s time to switch things up and/or try something new all together. If we change when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing, it’s imperative to recognize that pain, angst, or whatever you want to call it, and create opportunities to win. So many battles start in the heart and mind, and I choose to believe that we can position ourselves to welcome a beautiful shift once our minds can convince our hearts of the fullness we have in store in each and every area: our careers, our families, love, all of it. Chase the vision. It’s wonderfully beautifully ours for the taking.Happy Thursday guys! Xoxo-Chels 💋

Silk Road

2 Chelsea Coffey LOTD 10.17.13 copy

3 Chelsea Coffey LOTD 10.17.13This look revolved around a busy day of activities. Like most Thursday’s, I needed a vibe that would translate well in several different types of environments: work, a networking event and dinner. Fortunately, this BCBG top from Nordstrom Rack and Steve Madden wedges did the trick.

Posting all these looks has actually revealed to me that I have had a huge fashion crush on BCBG for the longest time lol –like prior to even really knowing the brand and all its fashionable goodness. There’s just just something about their silhouettes and classic attention to detail and designer that win me over time and time again.

Interestingly, I had the pleasure of interviewing BCBG’s Chief Creative Officer Lubov Azria at Fashion Houston last year. Not only is her story incredibly touching, I told her about my nonprofit Mia’s Closet when we finished the interview, and she invited me to a private event at Nordstrom the following day! –I’m still excited if you can’t tell haha What I love is that it is a firsthand priority for her to not only be a leader in her organization, but accessible to her team as well. To say the least, she has set such a great example, and I look forward to following suit given the platform. To this day I’m still super smitten –making my ongoing love affair with their brand all the more appealing. Visit the following link to see our interview as she hares the inspiring story behind her vision:
