Coffey Break Chat || The Spirit of Offense, Baggage & New Beginnings
Hey guys!
So, today is extra special because it is New Year’s Eve!! As I prepare for the future of my business endeavors, I realize that it is just as important to be preparing myself mentally and clean house both spiritually and emotionally going into 2015.
To say the least, I’m a little sensitive. Okay okay, more like a lot, and I’m okay with that. The key is that I’ve recognized that my little feeling get hurt easily, it’s no good to be aware of trait without being proactive about how to manage it. Some call it sensitivity, some call it a spirit, but all I know is that there are a lot people are walking around carrying the offenses of what others have done to them.
These last two years have shared a few highs and some of the lowest lows, so I really wanted to dig internally to run a scan to check for any old emotional baggage, and get rid of that chit! It’s a new season and God is moving. Join me as I walk through how I’m pushing past the spirit of offense and to live my best life. Wishing you all the best in this new year! Enjoy!

The Coffey Break || Fashion Houston 2014 Recap
Hey guys,
This year I had an opportunity to cover a couple of the Fashion Houston shows for The Coffey Break, and I have to tell you, it was special for a number of reasons. For starters the red carpet was AMAZING. The Wortham Center, with its huge ceilings, makes for such a grand entrance, and it was great to see so many familiar faces… But what really got me was looking back to this time last year. It’s just the coolest thing to reflect on how in one year so many things can change. I didn’t even reach out to the production team about going last year because I was a bit of a mess and honestly, I tried, but I was in a funk and couldn’t even psyche myself into making it happen.
I feel like I can’t say this enough, but God is good. Like so so good, and I’m so thankful for new seasons. If you’re going through a tough time, hang in there. Speak those things that aren’t as though they are, and surround yourself with people who will love on you, build you up and encourage you until you get your breakthrough. Sky’s the limit! 🙂 Enjoy!

Coffey Break Chat: Keeping Up With The Joneses
Hey you guys,
So, I’ve sat down twice now to start recording a Coffey Break Chat about this topic, and after two failed attempts, I came to the realization that there’s a pattern when it comes to the content I write about and the content I vlog about. For whatever reason, when it comes to a topic that I’m still mulling over, I sort through the thick of it by spilling it all out in written form, which turned into a very long reflection. So, I just went ahead and recorded the video. The original title for this post was: Benchmarking, Social Media & Self-Doubt, only to realize that what’s really going is Keeping Up With The Joneses at its best. To say the least, it took me stepping completely out of my comfort zone to record this video, but the first step is aknowledging that you have a problem haha And hopefully this will be a source of encouragement and clarity to anyone who can relate 🙂
Here goes…

Coffey Break Chat: 3 Non-Negotiables with Meagan Elyce
Hey guys!
Today I had the pleasure of sitting down with my dear friend and life&style blogger, Meagan Elyce. Over the course of our discussion we couldn’t help but notice that some conversations are too good to keep to ourselves… It was a juicy one indeed 😉
Join us below as she shares her 3 non-negotiables for selecting a future mate!
Need a recap? Here’s a refresher of Meg’s Top 3!
-
God Fearing– I want my partner to love God and establish Him as the head of our household. I want my partner to be a praying man that will pray over our family and feed the word of God into us daily.
-
Family Oriented– I want my partner to be a family man. I want family to be an important factor in his life and I want him to value the relationships he has with them-especially immediate family members like mother/father, brother/sister. Also, could this person be a great father to my future children?
-
Financial & Emotional Stability -It is imperative that my partner be stable in both these areas so that he can help to provide that for our relationship. I want him to not only know that value of a dollar, but know why it is important to save and invest for the future for our family (and actively save and invest) so that we aren’t always looking to keep our heads above water. Emotional stability is important because I want my partner to be there to provide support and love when I may have emotionally checked out and I need that extra love and attention to get me back to where I need to be.
